Spring Roses Are Here
Hello crafting friends,
Monica here and I’m super excited for this new release from Studio Katia.
For this week I wanted to feature the Spring Roses stamp set. I created three super easy cards using the same technique with a bit of a twist on each of them.
I started by selecting coloured cardstocks and matching inks. I cut my cardstocks to a slightly bigger size than an A2 card and used a stamping platform to stamp the Spring Roses around the edges on watermark ink. For the yellow and purple card, I used white embossing powder and heat set it. Then, I inked the outer edges of each card, using two or three shades of the same cardstock colour (yellow and purple). With a clean cloth, softly wiped the excess ink of the roses to reveal the white embossing. I then splattered some white shimmer all over these panels, trimmed them to 4” X 5 ¼” and set them aside to dry.
On a piece of thick vellum I inked the roses once again and heat embossed them on white embossing powder and used the matching die to cut them out. I stamped sentiments from the Spring Roses and Mom sets and trimmed them.
I had created A2 card bases and added a layer of textured cardstock for the yellow and a bit of a shimmery one for the purple one. I foam mounted my panels using the brand new foam tape from Studio Katia and adhered them to the card bases. Then, I added the vellum roses and placed the sentiment in the centre. This helps to adhere the vellum but hides the adhesive. I added a few Marshmallow and Magic Pearls.
The green card was made with the same technique but in reverse. I inked the panel first, then I stamped the roses and used glitter embossing powder instead of white. I used some sequins for that extra texture and sparkle. You can watch the entire process for this card in this video
I hope you like these simple yet cute cards that you can make without too many supplies and especially if you’re short in time.
Thanks so much for stopping by, see you next time!!!
