The Daily Maker

Last June, I was invited to participate as an ambassador in the The Daily Marker challenge hosted by Kathy Racoosin the creator of the Daily Marker, which run from June 15th to July 15th of this year.

Being considered for the event among a sea of crafters was already a privilege so I was truly honoured when I got selected. Thirty days to let our skills and imagination to take over. To me, the best part was to meet new talented fellow crafters and to enjoy their incredible work. It was all very inspiring.

If you are wondering what this event was about, I took the following notes from Kathy’s blog, The Daily Marker:

“WHAT IS THE GOAL OF THE CHALLENGE? The goal of the challenge is to carve time to colour something daily, even if it’s a few minutes, but certainly not required. Perhaps you can only carve out a few minutes certain days, that is totally cool. This challenge is supposed to be fun, a good way to put your coloring mediums to use and to create some ‘me’ time. (I know that I am happier when I am coloring even if it’s for 10 minutes.) It’s an ‘anything goes’ challenge; color whatever you feel inspired to do. Any medium of your choice including “coloring” with ink or fiber for that matter. Some days you will have more time than others but, it’s just about adding more time to color and carve out a little time for you (often I have colored one petal on a flower).”

And what does exactly an ambassador do? My role as an ambassador was to help Kathy spreading the love and support over the social media platforms, especially Instagram and Facebook. As she pointed, “the challenge is about colouring and it’s about community, spreading kindness and support for each other”

I must say I enjoyed that entire month to the max and I will certainly do it again in a heartbeat.
