Teachers Appreciation Cards

Teachers and school staff have been amazing this year, at least on our part. Despite all the restrictions and scares, we made it to the end of the year without having to isolate once, hooray!!!

Crayons card

For this first card, I used a crayons dies which I cut in several different colors (I chose 3 at the end). From the same set I cut the details in black and white cardstock and I mixed and matched all the parts on each different crayon, glued them and set them aside.

On a piece of white cardstock, I blended Peacock Feathers, Mustard Seed and Picked Raspberry distress inks, sprayed a bit of water and set aside to let dry. I used a cover plate die from another piece of white heavy cardstock and placed it on top of the inked panel. I then arranged the crayons in a staggered manner along the panel and added a few hearts that are also part of the same crayons die set. I finished the card by adding glossy accents and some crystal embellishments.

Best Teacher Ever card

For this card, I used a variety of heavy cardstocks (the colors should really be the ones of your preference) on a cover die. Once I did this, I ended up with several pieces in all of the colors of the die, and they will yield to at least 5 or 6 backgrounds. Then, on a piece of thin paper (like printer paper), I assembled the pattern of the die by mixing the different colors of cardstock, adhered them using liquid glue and set aside until it was dry.

I inked a small piece of white cardstock with versamark and sprinkled some blue sparkly embossing powder. From it, I cut Best and Ever sentiments, I also cut their shadow in vellum. On a strip of teal cardstock, I stamped and heat set in white embossing powder, the teacher sentiment and used a banner die to cut it. All the words in this card as well as the banner are from the same stamp and die set from Studio Katia. Finally, I added a few iridescent bubbles for texture and a bit of sparkle.

The cards are different from each other because I always try to match them to the personality of the person who will receive them, but these two techniques are quite versatile, they really can be used for any theme.

Thanks for stopping by and see you next time.

XOXO
