Die Cutting Frenzy

Die Cutting Frenzy

Hello dear reader,

Today, I would like to share these two cards I made almost only using die cutting. There is some inking done though, but not with stamps (other than the sentiments) but to color the cardstock from which I die cut each piece. I really wanted the ombre effect and since I didn’t have cardstock in the right shades, I customized it myself using distress inks. I used different shades of reds, pinks and yellows and blended really well, to achieve each hue

Yellow Friend card.

On a piece of Neenah cardstock I blended  Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin and Spiced Marmalade, in sort of stripes. I then used the friends die on each section, so I ended up with all these pieces and arranged them in an offset manner down a piece of white cardstock that I had previously treated with a simple background die. Then, I stamped and white heat embossed the “Hello” sentiment on a skinny strip of black cardstock and placed it right in the centre. Finally, I finished the card off by adding some oragie sequins.

Pink Proud of you card

The same process applies for the next card, except that in this case, I started off with a very light pink cardstock and enhanced the colour also using distress inks. I then arranged them on the main panel, a plain white cardstock, also with a subtle detail from a background die. I decided to make this a shaker card afterwards, and it turned out quite sparkly and fun.

For as much as I love colouring, every now and then, I like to switch things up and try something a bit less predictable.

I hope you enjoy the pics and the reading.

Thanks for visiting!

XOXO
