Aster in No-Line Watercolour

Hello crafty peeps!

I had been looking forward to working with this beautiful Aster stamp. I really wanted to highlight the simplicity of the Aster flower and I thought a classic, no-line watercolour technique would be perfect for it.

The steps for this card are very simple. Starting by stamping the image on a piece of watercolour paper, using a blue-gray water based ink.

Then proceeded to add small hints of colour using watercolour markers and blending them into each petal.

I used a mix of blues, grays and greens. I also mixed the colours outside of the image to create a background for the flowers. Once the colouring was completed and dried, I trimmed the panel to a 3” x 6” then started to “shave” the edges to give the distress look.

I stamped a sentiment from the same set on vellum and placed it across the panel. Then, I foam mounted the piece on a mini slimline cardbase. Finally, I added just a few sequins for a bit of sparkle and texture.

I hope you like this card. I sure enjoyed every bit of the creative  process, especially the coloring.

Thanks for visiting. See you next time!
